My demo tree at the Bonsai Society of Brevard’s zoo show last weekend. It’s a Simpson’s Stopper (Myrcianthes fragrans). The second pic is the before pic, the red outline is how big the canopy started out as, and the after pic (the first one) is illustrating the principle taught to us by John Naka; try to make the shortest tree you can when styling a bonsai. #bonsai #trees #mybonsaiworld #floridabonsai #nativebonsai

A Texas ebony (ebanopsis ebano, it used to be called pithecellobium flexicaule) love the bark and the branch growth. Hate the thorns, it’s one of the only trees where the thorns are small, sharp, and mean enough to get into my fingers and stay. It’s styled in a desert/pseudo-flattop deciduous style #mybonsaiworld #bonsai #trees #floridabonsai #nativebonsai (at Adam’s Art and Bonsai Studio and Nursery)
