Now there’s a motley bunch. I firmly believe that bonsai should be fun, and therefore I have been known to make faces when photos are being taken, beware. Photo by Pat #bonsairoadwarrior #mybonsaiworld #bonsai #trees #workshops (at Fort Wayne, Indiana)

I had the pleasure of visiting an old friend (Big Foot the ficus) and meeting some new bonsai at Petroleum Traders the other day. I worked hard on Big Foot a few years back (https://adamaskwhy.com/2014/06/28/eight-foot-tall-ficus-trunk-chop-how-low-can-you-go/) and I was delighted to see how much the tree has developed. It and all the trees there are diligently cared for by Darlene and Pat, and the great American bonsai artist, Guy Guidry, directs them and visits several times a year. Guy has sold several of his “babies” to the owner, Michael, and does a great job curating the collection. Thank you Darlene for letting me revisit Big Foot! #bonsairoadwarrior #mybonsaiworld #bonsai #trees

One of the prices of being a traveling bonsai artist is you sometimes miss important things. But thanks to FaceTime I was able to watch my daughter’s promotion to blackbelt in taekwondo. Congratulation Gwendolyn, I’m proud of you, I wish I could have been there. Now, tomorrow is my wedding anniversary…..sorry Becky. #mybonsaiworld #taekwondo #blackbelt #bonsairoadwarrior (at LaCabreah, Fort Wayne, Indiana)

My hosts’ for the last two days beautiful garden. Steve and Tom have built an amazing backyard retreat with a koi pond, conifers, multicolored maples, succulents, hosta, begonia, and garden sculptures, many of the last created by them. Thank you gentleman, I had an awesome time working on your trees and hanging out, see you next time! #bonsairoadwarrior #ontheroad #bonsai #mybonsaiworld #gardens #koipond #lillypads (at Southside, Lansing, Michigan)

My trip so far. I’m currently in Lansing Michigan. That’s over 1200 miles (over 1900 km for the metric humans out there) 18 hours of driving and I’m just begun. And only 77f (25c). Compared to 62f when I got here that’s balmy, compared to 91f in Orlando, it’s winter. #mybonsaiworld #bonsairoadwarrior #ontheroad #bonsai

Some might know this bridge. It means I’m in Ohio and it’s like 96f here. I can’t tell you the last time it was that hot in Orlando (believe it or not it doesn’t get much above 93f there. I think of it did we’d all die if you coupled that with the humidity) #bonsairoadwarrior #ontheroad #americanbonsai #bonsai #mybonsaiworld #cincinnatibridge
