Recently, I’m seeing a lot of people using gloves when it’s repotting time. I understand not wanting dirty hands, , but the health benefits of digging in dirt cannot be denied (here’s a link: https://qz.com/993258/dirt-has-a-microbiome-and-it-may-double-as-an-antidepressant/amp/). Not only does just the feel of dirt in your hands make you feel better (remember making mud pies?) but a soil bacteria, M. Vaccae, causes your body to release serotonin, a hormone that makes you feel good and boosts your immune system. So get rid of the gloves and play in your bonsai’s soil. That might be a reason that my autocorrect keeps changing the word “soil” to “soul” #mybonsaiworld #bonsai #trees #dirt #bonsaisoil (at Adam’s Art and Bonsai Studio and Nursery)
