This tree puzzled the attendees at the Kannapolis Winter Silhouette Show last December. It’s a tropical tree but it’s also what the botanists call a “drought deciduous” tree. In the dry season, which is usually winter in the tropics, they will drop their leaves just like an elm or maple. We in Bonsai are better at keeping them watered and warm so you don’t usually see them like this. It’s a wrightia religiosa, the water jasmine. And a little frog. And a monkey with a monkey on its back. Is this metaphor? #mybonsaiworld #bonsai #tree #floridabonsai #americanbonsai #trees #froggy (at Adam’s Art and Bonsai Studio and Nursery)
